This is the most commonly asked question by the parents of the child who wants to get braces and followed by how much time its gone take. A typical orthodontic patient will usually have his braces on for 12-30 months ( varies for each patient ) . Very few complex cases may require more than this . Extending treatment time is frustrating for both patient and parents and is done only if strongly required . Generally a patient can get braces only when first permanent molars has started to erupt which is usually between 7-14 yrs of age . Although it is applicable to most of the patient but still exceptions are there , therefore each patient is treated individually for his particular requirement and clinical conditions.
